Day 3 – Part One

Day Three: Part One
After a full on and exciting day yesterday, everyone hit their beds and had a good nights sleep. Jamatkhana this morning was followed by a delicious breakfast, after which we freshened up and made our way to the first set of activities. Tunnelling was a big hit today, as well as the ever popular Aerial Trek. With all groups embracing the weather and making the most out of every minute at camp, the smiles filtered through and memories continue to be made!
Having just finished a tasty lunch, participants will soon be preparing for the one and only ‘C&S Water Fight.’ Don’t worry as the rain has cleared up just in time. We might be in a new location, but our traditions stay the same. It’s safe to say that this is the event everyone has been waiting for. With anticipation rising and tactics building, this promises to be an event not to be missed!

For our final night of evening entertainment, we have our very first C&S Disco (with a twist)! We can’t wait to dance the night away whilst showing off our dodgeball skills, as we celebrate being part of the 2018 C&S family! Watch this space for photos from our water fight and Disco Dodgeball coming soon!

Day 2 – Part Two

Day Two,

As we draw a close on Day 2 at C&S, the fun and excitement certainly hasn’t stopped!

Whilst continuing to make the most of the sunshine the groups participated in their final activity for the day. From the suspense of laser maze, to the height of the trapeze, to the essential survival skills session – the activities didn’t disappoint!

Following evening Jamatkhana and a scrumptious dinner, the night had finally arrived for the inaugural C&S Arts Show. Excitement was in the air, with each group showing unity and team working skills as they prepared for their big moment!

The performances truly blew us away! From dances, to raps, to role-plays to poetry…the standard was incredible. As a C&S family, we cheered for each other whilst eating popcorn and sharing moments of smiles and laughter. A huge congratulations to all participants for showing such courage and talent. We couldn’t be more proud!

Following hot chocolate and reflection time, all participants settled down ready for lights out. Bring on our final full day of camp!

Day 2 – Part One…

Day 2

After a tiring but exciting first day at camp, day 2 began early with Jamatkhana at 7.15am. After a great start to the day and a hearty breakfast, all groups headed out to their morning activities, including overcoming fears on the Gladiator Wall, putting team working skills to the test during raft building and exploring the sensory trails.

Lunch comprised of jacket potatoes with a range of fillings and a delicious selection of fruits! At this moment in time, each of the groups are all hands on deck as they actively participate in an arts and creativity workshop in preparation for this evening’s big event!

The inaugural ‘C&S 2018 Arts Show,’ inspired by the Jubilee Arts Programme will be taking place this evening. As we strive to keep the spirit of Diamond Jubilee alive, all participants are busy preparing for their group performance. From singing, to dancing, to poetry, to gymnastics – who knows what tonight will bring other than showcasing exceptional talent and making memories!

We can’t wait for the showcase and will keep you updated after the event….

Day 1

Day One: The start of our journey
After a long and hot(!) journey, we made it to Shropshire right in time for lunch. Everyone rushed off the coach and made their way to retrieve their food where we sat on the scenic terrace and got to know each other.
We had a busy and exciting schedule planned for the day. We were welcomed by the leadership team where we were introduced to the new site as well as the Caring and Sharing camp song – remind your kids to sing it for you when they get home! The participants had an opportunity to understand and learn more about the camp value – developing an attitude of gratitude.
Kicking off the camp experience, we dived into a selection of activities including Laser Maze, Gladiator Wall, Trapeze and Survival Skills. With the weather being so nice, we took the opportunity to build on our team building skills on the grass and started to develop brand new friendships.
After Jamatkhana, we headed for dinner, fish and chips or vegetarian curry was our selection for the evening. Following this, we were then treated with meringue with cream and jam – some even went for seconds!
Evening activities brought the groups together to showcase their group identities dressing up in different colourful outfits. See pictures below!
We ended the day with some tasty hot chocolate and marshmallows where the kids got to reflect on their day and discuss their favourite points of the day. After a long day, we all headed to bed for a well deserved rest!
We are looking forward to tomorrow’s day of activities!
